On-page SEO checklist for a GoHighLevel website
GoHighLevel (LeadConnector) sites rank when the page says one thing clearly. They stall when the builder still has demo logos, two H1s, a /home copy of the homepage, and test URLs in the sitemap.
Do this on every money page
- Title tag: 50–60 characters. Name the service and the city. Example: Local SEO and listings for DFW trades | Ethical AI.
- Meta description: 140–160 characters. One sentence of proof, one next step.
- One H1: The same idea as the title, not a second slogan. Convert extra H1s to H2.
- First paragraph: Who it is for and what happens next. No stacked buzzwords.
- NAP in the footer: Same name, city, and phone as Google Business Profile.
- Image alt text: Describe the photo. Do not paste the blog title into every image.
- Internal links: Home → Services → Get Started. Blog posts should point at those three, not only at each other.
GHL-specific leaks
/homeduplicating/. Point the nav to the root. 301 /home to https://ethicalai.me/ if the builder allows a redirect.- Sitemap junk:
/test_path?item=123and/404-stop. Unpublish or noindex those pages, then regenerate the sitemap. - Logoipsum and Unsplash “client” rows. Replace with real logos or delete the row. Empty is better than fake.
- Heavy background videos on the homepage. Compress or remove. A 300–400 KB first load is the target, not 700 KB+.
- JSON-LD: add Organization + LocalBusiness on the homepage and FAQPage only where FAQs are visible.
