Say the city once in the homepage H1

September 03, 2026

Five cities in the homepage headline is not coverage. It is a slogan. The shop that ranks in Frisco put Frisco in the H1 once, then proved it on the listing, the truck, and the storefront photo. Ethical AI is in Frisco, Texas. We install listings, on-page SEO, and review workflows for HVAC, plumbers, electricians, and other local shops. Name, address, and phone still have to match before you rewrite the headline: put the same phone on Yelp and Maps before you write another post.

One city. The one you actually run.

Pick the city on the license, the truck, and the listing. Frisco, Plano, McKinney, or the suburb you dispatch from. Not “DFW and beyond.” Not a comma-separated tour of every ZIP you might drive on a Saturday.

  1. Write the H1 as what you do plus that one city. HVAC in Frisco. Plumbing in Plano. The theme already prints the title. Do not stack a second headline under it that lists five more towns.
  2. Repeat the same city in the first paragraph, the footer, and the listing. If the homepage says Frisco and the card says Dallas, you split the shop.
  3. Service-area towns belong on their own pages, not in the H1. One city per page. The homepage is the home city.

If you cover a second city for real, give it a page with a real address proof, a real photo, and a click-to-call that matches the listing. Do not stuff it into the homepage headline to “get more keywords.”

What the stacked slogan does

  • The H1 reads like an ad, not a shop
  • Maps already has a service-area list. The homepage H1 is not that list
  • A visitor in Frisco cannot tell if you are actually here
  • You train the page to rank for a phrase nobody searches: five cities and a trade

The next blog post will not fix a homepage that refuses to name the town. Listings still come first, and the photos still have to be yours: use a photo of the actual shop, not a stock van.

What never goes in the H1

  • A price, a “starting at,” or a coupon
  • Every suburb in Collin County
  • A slogan with no city and no trade
  • A second shop name that only exists on the wrap

Say the city once. Make the rest of the page match. Then leave it alone.
