Map pin and directory listings for a local trade business

Google Business Profile checklist for HVAC and trade shops

August 13, 2026

Google Maps is the storefront. The profile is only as strong as the fields that match your truck, your invoice, and your website. Do this list in one sitting.

Primary category first

Pick the trade you invoice most: HVAC contractor, landscaper, electrician, plumber. Secondary categories are extras. A vanity category that is not on the invoice wastes the profile.

Hours and phone

  • Hours match the phone schedule, not a wish.
  • One phone. Same digits as the website footer. See NAP consistency.
  • If you are after-hours only by emergency line, say so in the description, not as fake 24/7 hours.

Service areas

List the cities you actually drive this month. Drop cities you will not staff. A Frisco shop that claims Denton, McKinney, Plano, Allen, and Fort Worth with one truck looks like spam.

Photos that prove the work

  • Crew, truck, and a finished job. Not stock.
  • Alt text on the website photos should name the city and the job. The Maps photos should be the same jobs.

Weekly posts

One post a week: a finished job, a seasonal tip, or hours for a holiday. Not a meme. Pair this with review requests after finished jobs.
