About Ethical AI: a family of builders who love pushing the boundaries

Howdy, I'm Allen. I'm a Taiwanese Texan and an engineer at heart. Ethical AI is our family business, and our small team builds the tools that help local businesses grow without losing their soul. ❀️

Our family business πŸ› οΈ

Ethical AI is a Texas family business. Between us, we bring nearly three decades of hands-on work in technology, automation and global commerce, and we started this firm for one reason: to help small and mid-size businesses get over that tough $0 to $1 million hump.

Our family and extended team come from all over the map: real estate, manufacturing, the trades, maker shops, product development, big tech, hardware engineering, materials science, software and firmware, law, public policy and finance. That mix is the point. We give a local business the kind of edge big companies take for granted, so nobody gets left behind.

Local focus. Global impact. 🌎

Why I do this πŸ’›

Years of building teach you fast that every hour matters. When I see an owner doing paperwork at midnight instead of being at the dinner table, I take it personally. Robots should take the grind. People should keep the craft, and their evenings.

Engineering is in our DNA πŸ”§

Most people hear "system architect" and think I build houses. πŸ˜„ I build the systems inside a company: the hardware, the code, and now the AI that ties it together. Four bands, one practice:

Hardware

Materials science, prototyping and spec work. Boards and builds that have to survive a real shop floor, not just a slide.

Firmware

The layer that makes hardware listen. Timing, careful revisions, and the quiet fight between what the spec promised and what the chip will take.

Software

Apps, integrations and data pipelines a company touches every morning, built so the next person can actually maintain them.

AI, the newest band

Agents, workflows and testing, plus the judgment call about what should never be automated. Same practice, newest tools.

Pushing the boundaries, one build at a time πŸš€

Innovation isn't a slogan for us. It's a habit: find what's leaking, build the right system for it, and never leave a mess for the next shift.

🏭

Sourcing and making things

Before AI was a buzzword, I was on factory floors in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Shenzhen, bringing product lines into the U.S. and negotiating in English and Chinese. I also ran a little carbon-fiber and metal shop, because I wanted to build things people could hold.

🦷

Running real companies

I built and ran companies in the Seattle area, including one that handled the tech, staffing and back office for dental offices so the doctors could stay with patients. That's where I learned what a busy shop really needs.

πŸŽ“

Teaching adults to build

For years I led teaching teams for university-partner tech programs: Python, data, machine learning, the real hands-on stuff. My test was simple: can a working adult ship the next thing on Monday?

βš–οΈ

A law degree on the workbench

I have a law degree, and I use it like a torque wrench: on contracts, risk and fine print. I'm not your lawyer, but I read every agreement like one.

🎬

Building what we needed

When the apps we needed didn't exist, we built our own. We also run a small picture-and-sound studio for content. If we need it, we'll build it.

Why "Ethical"? 🀝

Too much of what's sold to small businesses is a costume: a chatbot in a hat, a long contract, accounts you don't own. We do the opposite.

  • πŸ—οΈ You own everything. Accounts, data, subscriptions, even the computer your AI operator runs on.
  • πŸ” Nothing without your OK. You approve every remote session, every time.
  • πŸ’΅ Plain prices. Every price is posted on our pricing page.
  • πŸ™… No made-up promises. I'll tell you what's realistic, even when it's less exciting.

Robots take the grind. Your people keep the craft.

A small team, on purpose πŸ‘₯

We're a small team, not a call center. When you work with us, you work with the people doing the work, and I'm on the calls myself. I speak English, Mandarin, Taiwanese, Cantonese and French, and I'll switch mid-sentence if that's how you think.

Videos and free training πŸŽ₯πŸŽ“

Teaching is in my blood. I spent years helping working adults learn to code and use data, and I want to give that back to local owners.
