1. Who we are
Ethical AI ("we," "us," "our") is a small business based in Frisco, TX, run by Allen Y. Wu, JD. We help local businesses with marketing, listings and AI automation. This policy covers ethicalai.me, its pages and forms, our chat widget, and the emails and texts we send.
This policy works together with our Terms. If you use our free tools, the terms on that tool's page also apply.
2. What we collect
What you give us
We collect what you type into our forms, chat or messages. Depending on the form, that can include:
- Contact details: your name, email address and mobile or phone number.
- Business details: your business name, website, location (city or area), industry and what you need help with.
- Your answers and choices: answers to questions on a form, which free kit or tool you asked for, and the boxes you tick (for example, agreeing to terms or to receive texts).
- Messages: anything you send us through the chat widget, email, text or a phone call, and replies you send to our messages.
- Booking details: the time you pick and anything you tell us when you book a call.
The forms on our site include:
- Our contact and "book a call" pages.
- Our free audit pop-up (a review of your Google profile, listings, reviews and website speed).
- Sign-up forms for our free kits and tools (such as Sugar Scoop, Force Multiplier and Pocketwatch) and for our Insider Track updates.
Please don't send us sensitive information (such as health, financial account or government ID numbers) through our forms or chat. We don't ask for it.
What we collect automatically
When you visit the site, our website platform and analytics tools collect basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you got to our site, and general location (city or region) estimated from your IP address. See Cookies and analytics.
What others give us
If you run a business, we may look up public information about it (such as your Google Business Profile, directory listings, reviews and website) to prepare an audit or quote you asked for.
3. How we use it
We use your information to:
- Reply to you, book and hold the calls you schedule, and send reminders.
- Send the free kit, tool, audit or files you asked for.
- Send updates, tips and offers you agreed to receive (you can stop any time).
- Provide, bill for and support the services you buy from us.
- Understand how people use our site so we can improve it.
- Keep our site, forms and messages secure and prevent spam or abuse.
- Follow the law and protect our rights.
We use your information because you asked us to (consent), because we need it to do what you requested or to work under a contract with you, or because we have a fair business reason that doesn't override your rights, such as keeping our site secure.
4. Email marketing
If you sign up for a kit, tool, audit or Insider Track, or agree to hear from us, we may email you about our services, updates and offers. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Click it and we'll stop sending you marketing emails. You can also email [email protected] and ask us to stop.
Even after you unsubscribe, we may still send emails that aren't marketing, such as replies to your questions, booking confirmations, or messages about services you buy from us.
5. Text messages (SMS)
We only send marketing texts if you opt in, for example by ticking the text-message box on one of our forms. By opting in, you agree to receive texts from Ethical AI at the number you gave us. Texts may include replies, appointment reminders, the files or links you asked for, updates and offers.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts. We'll confirm, and then stop.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact us at [email protected] or 469-669-2728.
- Agreeing to texts is never required to buy anything from us.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or text-message opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. We only share it with the service providers that help us send the texts (see below).
Stopping texts doesn't unsubscribe you from email, and unsubscribing from email doesn't stop texts. Use each one, or just ask us to stop both.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run parts of our business for us and are allowed to use your information only to do that work. These include:
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| HighLevel (also called GoHighLevel or LeadConnector) | Hosts our website, forms, pop-up, chat widget and booking calendar. Stores contacts in our CRM. Sends our emails and texts. |
| Phone and email delivery companies used by HighLevel | Deliver the texts, calls and emails we send. |
| Google (Google Analytics and the Google tag) | Measures site visits and how pages are used. Google reCAPTCHA may be used to block spam on forms. |
| Google Workspace and video-call tools | Our business email, files and calendar, and the video calls you book with us. |
| Payment processors (such as Stripe) | Process payments from clients. We don't store full card numbers. |
- When the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, safety or property, or the safety of others.
- If our business changes hands, for example in a merger or sale. The new owner would have to treat your information as this policy says.
- With your permission, for anything else.
7. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files your browser saves. Our site and its tools also use "local storage," which works the same way. We and our providers use them to:
- Make the site work: load pages, run forms, the chat widget and the booking calendar, and remember choices (for example, so our audit pop-up doesn't keep appearing after you close it).
- Measure the site: Google Analytics, through the Google tag, tells us things like how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they found us. You can learn more at How Google uses data from sites that use its services, and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Stop spam: tools like reCAPTCHA check that a real person is filling in a form.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the site, such as forms, chat or booking, may not work. Our site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.
8. Free Windows tools (Pocketwatch)
Our free Pocketwatch tools for Windows laptops (Battery HUD, GPU Switch and Power Switch) run on your own computer. The tools contain no code that connects to the internet, and they do not collect or send us any personal data. They read and change settings only on your device.
To get the tools, you fill in the form on the Pocketwatch page. That form collects your name, email, mobile number and your answers, so we can email you the files and, if you opt in, send Insider Track updates. That form information is handled under this policy. If you email us a report about your laptop, we keep it to improve the tools.
9. If you become a client
When you buy our services, we also keep billing and account details, such as invoices, payment records and the details we need to do the work. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we don't store full card numbers.
Our work for you may involve your own accounts and customer data (for example, your CRM, listings, ads or email). We use that information only to do the work you hire us for, under our agreement with you, and we don't sell it or use it for our own marketing. Accounts and data set up for your business stay in your name.
10. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy:
- Leads and sign-ups: while you stay on our list or keep in touch with us. If you ask us to delete it, we will, except as noted below.
- Clients: for as long as you're a client, and afterward as long as we need it for taxes, accounting, legal claims or other legal duties.
- Opt-outs: if you unsubscribe or reply STOP, we keep a record of that so we don't contact you again by mistake.
- Analytics: kept for the period set in our analytics settings, then deleted or anonymized by the provider.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
11. How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, such as trusted service providers, secure (HTTPS) connections and limited access to your information. No website, email or text system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that information will never be lost or misused. If we learn of a data breach that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
12. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- See the personal information we have about you, and get a copy.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your personal information.
- Stop marketing emails or texts (or just unsubscribe or reply STOP).
To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request" and tell us what you'd like. We may need to confirm it's really you before we act, usually by replying from the email or phone number we have on file. We'll respond within 45 days. If we can't do all of what you ask (for example, because the law requires us to keep a record), we'll tell you why. If you disagree with our answer, reply and ask us to take another look.
Depending on where you live, including Texas, you may have additional privacy rights under the law. We will honor the rights that apply to you and will not treat you differently for using them.
13. Children
Our site and services are for businesses and adults. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our sign-up and text-message forms are for people 18 or older. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
14. Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites and services, such as Google, our social media pages, laptop makers' support pages and our client login. We don't control those sites, and this policy doesn't cover them. Please read their privacy policies.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If we make a big change, we may also let you know by email or on the site. Using the site after an update means the updated policy applies.
We are based in Texas, United States, and our site is run from the United States. This policy and any questions about it are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, as described in our Terms.
